You have completed all requirements of your university course and are now ready to graduate. What an achievement! You and your family must be very proud.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PRIOR TO HIRING OR PURCHASING ACADEMIC DRESS
The next Graduation Days are as follows:-
- Friday 28 September 2012 - The Professions Awards
- Saturday 29 September 2012 - Arts and Sciences Awards
We have available for all awards (excluding Phds) hire packages that include a gown, hood or stole and a trencher for $150.00. Please note that this fee includes a refundable deposit of $20.00 and includes a keepsake trencher that you will wear on the day.
The last day for hire of academic dress is three (3) weeks before graduation. After this date a $25 late fee will apply. The last day for purchase of academic dress is six (6) weeks before graduation.

The Graduation ceremonies are held on the southern lawns of Booloominbah. As the ceremonies are held outside, graduands and their guests are advised to bring sunscreen and a drink. The ceremony begins at 10.30am sharp. For this to occur, we ask that all graduands be seated by 10.15am. The ceremony lasts approximately two hours. Those graduating must remain seated for the duration of the ceremony.(In the case of wet weather the ceremonies will be transferred to Lazenby Hall).
Graduands attending the ceremony need to register on the day to have their seat number assigned to them. Registration opens just after 8.00am. The registration tent will be located on the Booloominbah lawn—east of Booloominbah and near the First Aid Tent. Graduands attending a ceremony must register at least one hour prior to the commencement of their ceremony. All graduands are asked to be seated 15 minutes before the commencement of their ceremony.
The best procedure is to first register at the registration tent. That then leaves you plenty of time to proceed to the Weston Common Room (Building C15) to collect your robes. The Weston Common Room, located in the courtyard between Madgwick and Lazenby Halls, opens at 8am on Graduation Day. Hires may only be collected on your ceremony day.
Staff will be on hand as you collect your robes to advise you on the correct way to wear the dress. There is always a bit of a queue so make sure you leave yourself enough time and don't have to rush.
And when it's all over...please remember to return your hired academic dress by 3.00pm again to the Weston Common Room.
