Clubs and Societies
Clubs generally fall into one of the following categories: College, Faculty, Recreational, Spiritual, Political and Activist, International or General. They are usually run by students and/or staff. So if you have a particular hobby or interest, and cannot find an existing club that meets your needs, it may be worth you forming a new club. To start, you need at least 5 people with the same interest as you and an expectation that this will grown to 10 or more people.
To form and administer a club takes much time and effort, however involvement can provide much personal and group benefits. It gives those involved leadership and other skills that will complement their academic achievements and will add to their resume when they graduate. By being involved you can have lots of fun and make new friends.
